Brand-new Brazilian bar Boteco is already building a reputation for a hip international crowd, groovy live samba and bossa nova bashes, and the yummiest yuca and beef croquettes this side of São Paulo, but today it will establish a new reputation. Thanks to the Boteco Mundo Mix, the cool new bar will become a craft-lovers mecca. Scheduled for every other Sunday, the bimonthly event will bring together artists, fashion designers, and other hands-on locals for a breezy outdoor fair. Owner Stefano Carniato describes it as “a healthy mess in Miami,” and from the looks of some of the participants’ wares, it’ll be a pretty mess too. Miami Craft Mafia members Ragamufyn, PhBeads, and 75Rabbit will showcase handcrafted jewelry and accessories, while customers can relax with a little professional massage therapy or get a sexy henna tattoo. There will be fresh coconut water and sugar cane for sale, and Brazilian vendors will offer Amazonian Indian tribal crafts, bellydancing gear, and bikinis from the country that wears them best.
