We certainly don’t need to tell you that the Brits rule electronic dance music. London specifically has been an EDM capital for decades, and the scene doesn’t ever seem to stop flourishing. Lately, artist collective and label Air London, for example, has become synonymous with topnotch underground tech-house. And its WMC parties in recent years have done much to cement that reputation on the international scene.
“We champion independently minded acts that absolutely do not want to follow the crowd,” Air London’s David O says. “We like to keep the lineup fresh and present as many breakthrough names as possible, alongside more established acts. So far, we have done that and also created a proper party at the same time. People seem to be coming back year after year, and it’s always nice to see familiar friendly faces!”
As it turns out, Air London’s relationship with Wynwood EDM mecca the Electric Pickle has also helped bring the collective and label to international prominence. “It’s still only our fourth year doing parties in Miami and the third consecutive year at the Pickle,” O admits.
“[But] the club was as forward-thinking as ever when they first gave us the Tuesday slot. Because back then, we were nowhere near as well known as we are now. I’d like to think we have made the Tuesday spot a lot of people’s first port of call for WMC or Miami Music Week.”
