For four years, Casa de Ha-Ha has been a safe haven for Miami’s comedic talent to break their stage virginity or polish up an act to take out on the road. Every second Tuesday of the month, Sweat Records (5505 NE Second Ave., Miami) provides a stage and home to Casa de Ha-Ha’s local comedic flavoring. Daniel Reskin leads the rotating group of comics through a night that is at some points abstract and others completely traditional. Current house comics include Lisa Corrao and John Vargas and have featured local favorites John Wynn, Erik Myers, and Have-Not Comedy’s Dominic Perenzin. To celebrate Casa de Ha-Ha’s four-year anniversary, organizers of Tuesday’s event promise skits, guests, a monologue, a band, a host with his own desk, and best of all, free booze. Knowing Miami’s comedy scene, we think the combination should lead to the kind of show Johnny Carson would’ve done on acid. Of course, it all just might be one big joke. Then again, who wouldn’t want it to be? That is, after all, what these guys do best.
