The Miami International Film Festival, which runs through March 13 at venues across town, is very, well, Miami. This year, organizers will screen three films that focus on the rich and cultured history of our city with works such as Mooney vs. Fowle, a groundbreaking 1961 documentary chronicling a football game between rivals Miami High and Miami Edison; and Magic City Memoirs (executive-produced by friend of MIFF Andy Garcia), a tale of three high school buddies living the fast life.
We review Magic City Memoirs as well as less talked-about, but no less enthralling, flicks you can catch at MIFF.
