If you prefer watching soap operas to actually living one, you could just as easily get lost inside of one of author Gigi Levangie Grazer’s tomes. When she wrote about a scorned wife who had been traded for a pretty young thing, cable network USA adapted it into a miniseries called the Starter Wife. And this summer, the 24-hour chick-flick channel, Lifetime, will take her second novel, Maneater, and give it to viewers in four segments of hilarious, edgy fun. The latest tale from Grazer is Queen Takes King, a story about the divorce and ensuing drama of a loaded, high-profile couple struggling through the trials of love and hate in New York after their 25-year marriage begins to disintegrate. You might not be able to relate to a couple whose love life is played out in tabloid’s gossip pages, but Grazer sure makes it fun to fantasize. She’ll be at the W South Beach (2201 Collins Ave., Miami Beach) this Friday to mix and mingle with VIPs. And this Thursday at 7 p.m. at Books & Books (927 Lincoln Rd., Miami Beach), she’ll sign copies of Queen Takes King.
