Florida Grand Opera kicks off its new season this Saturday with a bang. Or rather, a bash.
FGO’s ball Smoke & Mirrors, followed by the afterparty Crash the Bash, will be held at the Alfred I. DuPont Building (169 E. Flagler St., Miami). Hosted by gala chairs Isa Leibowitz and Gloria Portal and featuring Deborah Voight as the night’s woman of honor, the event is black-tie; in fact, FGO explicitly states to wear your darkest formalwear. (Spooky.)
The gala will include dancing, a four-course dinner, and special performances by members of FGO’s Young Artist Program. The climax of the night will be Voight’s acceptance of an award honoring her artistic achievements. Crash the Bash, the company’s very first afterparty, will immediately follow the gala. DJ Irie will create a party atmosphere, so prepare to get your dance on.
