The Miami Short Film Festival (MsFF), South Florida’s only short film fest, won’t officially kick off till December, but there’s a bit of solace for those looking for a bundle of shorter film works. The festival’s monthly screenings will bring yet another series to theaters this Wednesday. This time, it’s Documentary Night at Paragon Grove 13 (3015 Grand Ave., #322, Coconut Grove).
The night of shorts will pack five documentaries by different filmmakers and cover a variety of topics in their short lengths. They include Skule Eriksen’s Fjord, Roger Villarroya’s Palindrome, Evan Abramson’s Carbon for Water, Frida Kempff’s Mickey Bader, and Pierre Forcioli-Conti’s Afghan ’72. Tickets, available online for $15, include access to the cocktail lounge for complimentary beer from sponsor Stella Artois before the screening, which begins at 8 p.m. Visit miamishortfilmfestival.com/eventbrite.
