It’s just a jump to the left and a step to the right. Add some hands-on-hip action and pelvic thrusts and you’re well on your way to some sweet transvestite shenanigans, courtesy of Dr. Frank-N-Furter.
It wouldn’t be Halloween season without The Rocky Horror Picture Show, and while the beloved audience sing-along in the cinema is always a good time, Actors’; Playhouse is taking the fun even further. This Saturday at 11:30 p.m., audiences at the Miracle Theatre (280 Miracle Mile, Coral Gables) will get to act out the groundbreaking musical in their best costumes.
The playful folks at Actors’ Playhouse promise a night of prop kits that contain a variety of items that the audience can use and throw during the screening (i.e., rice, playing cards, newspaper, noisemakers). Craft beer will be provided by Miami Brewing Company, and a costume contest for all audience members begins at 11 p.m.
The best part: All of this corset-wrapped entertainment is free. Tickets are going fast for this Friday’s fun, but don’t worry, the live-action time warp repeats October 31. Call 305-444-9293 or visit actorsplayhouse.org.
