Regular New Times readers will be well aware of what WDNA does for our community, especially with regards to Brazilian Music, be it Bossa nova or MPB (Musica Popular Brasileira). And there’s no better in-town proponent of the form than Rhythm Foundation  Development Director and Café Brasil DJ Gene de Souza, who’s been giving us a steady dose of all that country’s musical wonders every Sunday evening for the last seven years.

On Wednesday night de Souza and DNA outdo themselves with a live in-studio performance from MPB singer/songwriter Vander Lee, who’s playing select dates in the States in support of his recently released Faro. Lee’s songs touch the soul of the Brazilian experience, and they’ve been sung by the likes of Leila Pinheiro, Margareth Menezes and Gal Costa. Having him here to sing them for us will be both a pleasure and a privilege.

Check out this clip of Lee singing “Romanticos” above.

88.9FM WDNA and Brol.com present another Fine Arts Concert, with Vander Lee. 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 17. 88.9FM WDNA Studios, 2921 Coral Way, Miami.Tickets are $50 ($25 for WDNA members) and include open bar and hors d’ oeuvres courtesy of Moleca Cachaça and Boteco Brazilian Bar. 305-662-8889; wdna.org
