Flip Burger Bar will open Friday in North Miami at a space formerly occupied by Bocca Ristorante Italiano. Clearly we have our share of burger joints in Miami, but owner Alain Pizzutti wanted to bring a casual, hang-out place to the neighborhood.
“There are a lot of university students around here and no place to watch sports, no bars,” said Pizzutti, who closed Bocca in April to transform it into Flip Burger Bar. “I asked the clientele [about the change] and they were supportive.”
The 30-seat restaurant will carry between 50 and 60 beers and wines by the glass. Sports, starting with the World Cup, will be shown on five flat-screen televisions. The menu will focus on burgers with some sandwiches and salads. Most dishes will be priced under $10.
