Easily contenders to top every end-of-the-year poll for the amazingly superb follow-up to 2008’s Crystal Castles, for the similarly named Crystal Castles (AKA Crystal Castles II), Ethan Kath and Alice Glass have shed the electro-house label and positioned themselves as true electronic music pioneers.

Their 2009 performance at Ultra Music Festival was almost vulgar for pushing the limits of what is acceptable “dance music.” Glass drunkenly stumbled across the stage, screaming unintelligible vocals for songs like “Courtship Dating,” “Yes No,” and “Crimewave.”

If you missed Crystal Castles then, you are not going to want to miss them a second time when they return to the Magic City September 11 for a live performance at Grand Central. Personally, we can’t wait to hear live renditions of their new material like “Celestica,” “Vietnam,” and “Baptism.”

The date has been confirmed by the band’s publicist. No word yet on when tickets will be on sale, so stay tuned. Update: Tickets are available for $25 in advance via Wantickets.com.

The band has never been one to release “official” videos, only cryptic images that sort of resemble something that MTV might have aired at one point. Still, after the jump check out the imagery for “Courtship Dating,” one of the few singles to actually receive a treatment.
