Tomorrow is not just any old Mexican Independence Day, but the 200th anniversary of its freedom from Spain. Talavera Restaurant in Coral Gables, as well as the less Mex Jaguar Ceviche Spoon Bar in Coconut Grove are serving special menus to honor the occasion.

After dinner, guests are invited to keep partying with live music, cocktails, and the traditional El Grito ceremony for Mexico’s heroes. No, not “El Gringo” — El Grito.

Chef Oscar del Rivero is no gringo either — he hails from Mexico. Here are a few of the dishes you can expect him to serve at Talavera tomorrow night (6 p.m. until “late night”):

Sopes de Mole (Sampler)
An appetizer perfect for sharing with handmade sopes (thick tortillas) topped with house signature moles with chicken, pork or beef
