It’s 2014. Pot houses are so out. Pot pools are totally in.
No, seriously, last week Miami-Dade Police discovered a massive hydroponic marijuana growing operation located at the base of a suburban home’s pool.
On January 23, officers approached a car outside 30121 SW 147th Court. They smelled pot inside and found several bags of the stuff on the car’s floor. The driver then got out and made contact with the homeowner.
Police asked to search the home and were given written consent. They smelled the strong odor of marijuana but couldn’t find anything illegal at first.

But then they found an open hatch in one of the rooms. It led down to a crawl space which led to the base of the sealed-off pool. Inside were 82 marijuana plants.
Valexy Quintero-Consuegra, 37, Marley Torres-Denis, 27, and Eddy Pelaez-Ramirez, 44, were all arrested after the discovery.
