The fifth-annual Deering Seafood Festival takes place this Sunday, March 29, from 6 to 11 p.m. The $15 admission covers entrance and all activities… excluding “food, drink, pontoon boat tour, and rock climbing wall.”
Damn, Deering, how ’bout next time you at least get us some drink sponsors.
The entertainment on the bill looks cool, though. The festival will feature the Bay Roots Reggae Band, Symphony of Steel, and Bahamian Junkanoo amid a variety of fresh, local, food offerings including “lobster, garlic blue crabs, fresh crawfish, conch, mountains of shrimp that are steamed, fried, or just peel and eat, grilled tuna and dolphin, fresh sushi, seafood paella and more.”
This will be a big-top-tent setup where local celebrity chefs will lead demos and cook samples for the crowd. Hell’s Kitchen 5’s Paula Da Silva will be there.
