Bo Pelini has put the rumors that he’ll be interviewing for the Miami Hurricanes’ open head coaching job to rest. The Cornhuskers head coach had issued a sort of not-quite-denial before, but the latest statement, issued in conjunction with Nebraska AD Tom Osbourne seems pretty definite.
“The reports that I am preparing to interview at the University of Miami are false,” reads the statement. “I will not have any additional comment on this matter or any other rumors.”
“”Bo has done an excellent job of leading our football program at Nebraska over the past three years,” said Osbourne. “We’re looking forward to having Bo and our coaching staff lead our team in the Holiday Bowl and as we transition into the Big Ten next year.”
One only needs to ask Nick Saban about how definite these supposedly definite statements sometimes are, but there doesn’t seem to be much reason not to take Pelini at his word.
