The U.S. Coast Guard unloaded a really good weekend’s worth of cocaine at the Port of Miami today. The 1,250 pounds of coke carried an estimated wholesale value of $19 million. No telling how much it would go for once it was cut up and hit the streets.
The coke was seized back on May 29 by the Coast Guard Cutter Bertholf in the Pacific Ocean. The cutter intercepted a coke boat 305 miles southwest off of Cocos Island, a Costa Rican national park. Six crew members were arrested. They’re being held in Guantanamo Bay and will be eventually turned over to the proper federal authorities.
The coke is now in the hands of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency.
