Back in the day when I was unhappy with my previous 80-hour-a-week job, I submitted my resume to Monster.com.

This morning, I received a rather curious email stating “Celebrity Chef Mario Batali is looking for a motivated rock star who’s interested in food, wine, media and travel to be his new Media Production Coordinator. Redefine the traditional production assistant role and aid Mario in all activities related to television and new media projects.”

A link led me to a Mario Batali/Monster web page, in which Mario himself stresses the importance of finding the right person in a video. He even goes so far as to list his own accomplishments (including being named GQ “Man of the Year” and winning two James Beard awards).

Though Chef Batali isn’t looking for an award-winning chef for this position, he is looking for someone familiar with New York City, fluent in conversational Italian, computer literate, open to travel, ;and 100 percent punctual (arriving early is preferred).
