There’s a new rib in town.
Burger King has announced the BK Rib sandwich and it’s already causing quite a stir among curious fast-food fans.

The suggested retail price for the BK Rib is $3.49; a regular sized combo is $5.59. The sandwich will be launched nationwide May 21 and will be available through the summer. Other seasonal menu items include a barbecue chicken salad; a Memphis barbecue pulled pork sandwich; and a Carolina barbecue Whopper.
The BK Rib is an obvious competitor to the McDonald’s McRib, the pressed pork patty with the cult following. The elusive sandwich, which is only offered on a semi-regular basis, even has an online locator where you can track where the sandwich was last spotted — much like Bigfoot or the Loch Ness monster.
There’s no telling whether or not the BK Rib will have that same following, but we’d bet some serious lunch money that the bigwigs are hoping for a public love fest. We’ll have to try one and let you know whether we fall under its spell.
