Rick Ross’ annual Be Out Day returned last week to the North Miami Athletic Stadium for its third year, and we just got our mitts on some photos of the star-studded charity event. For all his flossy gangster fantasies, Ross is still a diehard Miami guy who frequently back to the city’s underprivileged communities, playing charity events and even giving out Thanksgiving turkeys.
His Be Out Day was conceived as, more or less, a way to get kids to get excited about going back to school, and this year, attendees were treated to a day of activities, free goodies, and then a surprisingly star-studded free show. Waka Flocka Flame, Trina, Ace Hood, and of course Rick Ross and his artists like the Triple C’s and Magazeen all performed.
Along with Rick Ross Charities Inc., the event was co-sponsored by the Children’s Trust, the Urban League, and the Jayson Taylor Foundation. Area students got free haircuts, backpacks, school supplies, and pep talks from local luminaries like North Miami Mayor Andre Pierre and Senator Federica Wilson.
The Boss, meanwhile, for his efforts got official recognition from the office of Congressman Kendrick Meeks, and an official “Rick Ross Day” proclamation in the city of North Miami. (Every day has been Rick Ross Day everywhere in Miami-Dade County recently, though!)
