For the second year in a row, Amazon.com has compiled a list of America’s best-read cities. And for the second year in a row, Miami has come in sixth on the list. It’s a ranking that leaves us feeling proud but perplexed.
“The ranking was determined by compiling sales data of all book, magazine and newspaper sales in both print and Kindle format since June 1, 2011, on a per capita basis in cities with more than 100,000 residents,” Amazon.com writes.
Once again, Miami finds itself mixed in with a bunch of college towns in the top ten.

Alongside a bunch of college towns, important government towns, and Mormon-land, Miami sticks out like a sore thumb.
Then again, our city hosts one of the most important book fairs in all of America, so it’s not exactly like we lack any sort of literary cred.
