Hate to rain on the parade surrounding the uber-cool 1111 Lincoln Road Parking Garage, but the structure that has gotten rave reviews for its design from the art world and media — including the New York Times and Icon Magazine — is having trouble keeping parkers dry.

By featuring so much exposed concrete, Swiss architect Herzog and de Meuron (pronounced moron, we think) also exposed those who park in the structure to the elements. And that’s not a good thing as we get into summer thunderstorm season.

The garage suffers from geyser-like flooding near the elevators on the ground floor when the rain comes in heavy. Calls to the company that manages the building have not been returned. But, Riki Altman, a freelance journalist and frequent New Times contributor, who parked at the garage when she went to see the Sex in the City 2 premiere across the street, says the structure is a “lawsuit waiting to happen.” Worse than that it ruined her snakeskin sandals.

And she’s got the videos to prove it.
