Just as quickly as it arrived, summer’s almost over. Of course, the hot weather won’t subside for awhile around here. But we can still celebrate Labor Day weekend like we’re bidding goodbye to sunshine and beach days like the rest of this poor, unfortunate nation.
Either way, you need to save your pennies for the three day weekend ahead. Luckily, there’s plenty to do this week that won’t break the bank.
Tuesday
- Greta Garbo Films Double Feature at the Miami Tower: Check out the classic screen siren in Queen Christina and Anna Karenina and see what the world was like when celebrities had class.
When news happens, Miami New Times is there —
Your support strengthens our coverage.
We’re aiming to raise $30,000 by December 31, so we can continue covering what matters most to you. If Miami New Times matters to you, please take action and contribute today, so when news happens, our reporters can be there.
Wednesday
- Running for Brews at Elwood’s Gastro Pub: Burn calories, sip brews and make new buddies. You may never go back to the treadmill.
Friday
- Miami Five Band at Casino Miami Jai-Alai: Listen to salsa, merengue, cumbia, cha cha, and bolero tunes and catch some jai-alai in action while you’re at it.
- Free outdoor jazz at MOCA: Hear the Max Farber Quintet and tour some artsy stuff, too.
