Get ready to feel ashamed of your flabby arms, Twitterverse. Michelle Obama launched her own Twitter account this morning, promising to help tweeters across the globe “connect” with FLOTUS herself (and President Obama’s campaign, of course).
This wasn’t the first tweet by the First Lady — in October, she sent out a message via the Joining Forces Twitter account in support of the troops. Now, however, she has a handle to call her own.

as a new way for you to connect with First Lady Michelle Obama and the
President’s campaign.” Of course, the First Lady is a busy gal who can’t
be bothered with letting us know what she’s doing 24-7, so like many
politicians, the @michelleobama account will be managed by her staff.
But Mrs. Obama will drop a line every now and then, she promises: “Any
tweets from the First Lady herself [will be] signed ‘-mo.'”
Naturally, President Obama took to Twitter to welcome his wife.
“It’s not every day we get to welcome the First Lady of the United States to Twitter,” he posted this morning. “Happy to have you, @MichelleObama!”
It’s unclear how exactly “Mo’s” Twitter account will be used to support President Obama’s 2012 campaign; we’re guessing it’ll serve as a reinforcement of appearances and statements in other media. Still, we’re keeping our fingers crossed for fashion tips, upper body workout suggestions, and adorable Sasha and Malia TwitPics between the propaganda.
