Lois & Clark’s Dean Cain, Smallville’s Tom Welling, and Christopher Reeve have shown that Superman possesses supercuteness in addition to superhuman strength. And now newcomer Brandon Routh — the corn-fed Iowa native who cut his acting chops on the soap One Life to Live — must prove he has the power to fill theaters as well as he fills out his tights. Even though his acting resumé is barely knee-high, Routh’s debut as a leading man will leap right off the screen in Superman Returns: An IMAX 3D Experience. About twenty minutes of the film has been converted to IMAX 3D, and director Bryan Singer promises the effect will “[enable you] to feel the emotion, drama, and suspense in a completely new and unique way.” Ooh! We are so there! See the new Man of Steel today at the Blockbuster IMAX Theater at the Museum of Discovery & Science. Tickets cost $11, $10 for children ages two to twelve.
