This world can be a complicated place. Days spent working, dealing with traffic, wrangling children, and fighting for the remote control can be overwhelming. Thankfully, there’s a simple answer to dealing with life’s difficulties: a 10,000-pound truck smashing a 1994 Buick LeSabre with its six-foot-tall tires pushed by a 1,000 horsepower engine.
Monster trucks are the personification of mechanized male guilty pleasure. Don’t be fooled — at first glance, Monster Jam seems to cater to children, but these behemoths are really there to impress grown men. They’re obnoxiously loud, they’re full of fury and power, and they have the most ridiculous, testosterone-dripping names you’ve ever heard.
This Saturday’s event, a special stadium Monster Jam, features favorites such as Grave Digger, Iron Man, Spider-Man, Gunslinger, Max-D, and a whole menagerie of others. Unlike the smaller arena events, this Monster Jam, taking place at Sun Life Stadium (2269 NW 199th St., Miami Gardens), features as many as 16 trucks, mountains of dirt, and maybe a monster truck backflip.
