The infamous Nevin Shapiro scandal threatened to take down the University of Miami and even had some critics crying “death penalty” for the once-great football program. But head coach Al Golden vowed to clean up the mess, get his players focused, and keep them from accepting gifts of any kind. Problem solved!
Then UM safety Ray-Ray Armstrong purportedly went out to dinner with a sports agent and tweeted about it. “Just left Prime 112 wit @arinicolelife never seen a chicken this big,” the tweet said, with a photo of a plate of fried chicken and waffles attached. The tweet mysteriously vanished a few minutes later. Armstrong is one of the players who received stuff from Shapiro, and while he apparently has fantastic taste in food, his judgment is questionable.
Meanwhile, the Canes are reeling from a season of inconsistencies and overall crappy play. Coach Golden has his work cut out for him. That is until he bolts for Penn State, where he’s rumored to replace Joe Paterno. They don’t have any problems there whatsoever. The Hurricanes will host Boston College this Friday for a post-Thanksgiving Day showdown at Sun Life Stadium.
