Donna McKechnie is a real old-school Broadway broad. She ran away from her home in Detroit when she was 15 years old to join a touring dance troupe. She scored her first Broadway role in 1961’s How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying and hit it big in 1975 with a Tony-winning performance in Michael Bennett’s A Chorus Line. Her one-woman show, My Musical Comedy Life, based on her book of the same title, details what it was like to work in show business. It also portrays her difficult upbringing, troubled marriage to Bennett, and battles with depression and rheumatoid arthritis.
