The Biltmore is a well-known time capsule of elegance. From its sweeping grounds to its majestic architecture, the 83-year-old hotel radiates beauty from every corner. So it should never be subjected to dances such as the cabbage patch, running man, or stanky leg. If you’re going to get down at the Biltmore, you’ll have to keep your moves graceful and timeless. And since you don’t know a single move that has either one of those qualities, listen up.
Every Tuesday, World Tango’s Monica Llobet teaches your two left feet to do that dance created in Argentina and recognized all around the world — the tango. The 8 to 9 p.m. slot is for stumblers, um, beginners. From 9 to 10 p.m., advanced hoofers will take the floor. After you’ve learned from the best, join the milonga, a take on traditional Argentine dance clubs. Tango masters from around the world will put on a show to a score provided by tango orchestras. The class and milonga cost $15.
