There’s no better way to say, “Dad, you’ve never been there for me when I needed you,” than to take him to a botanical garden on Father’s Day. That’ll show him. But this Sunday expect Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden to be brimming with daddies who aren’t looking for excuses to bolt from the giant flower garden. That’s because Fairchild is hosting its annual Father’s Day Texas Barbecue Brunch. Let that soak in for a second. It’s not often you get barbecue and brunch together. Yummy.
What’s better than two distinct food cultures mingling like never before? That merger taking place under the careful watch of established chefs Andrea Curto-Randazzo and Frank Randazzo. The two have created a menu of cinnamon French toast, grits, eggs Benedict “Texas-style,” slow-cooked beef brisket, pork ribs, and Texas-style catfish. Into sweets? How about pecan tartlets, strawberry-chocolate bread pudding, peach cobbler, and Texas sheet cake. And because it’s a barbecue brunch, you can indulge in either beer or mimosas for an additional $5 each.
