The beginning of the school year is lurking like a creep on Christmas, and even though your coed days are long gone, the Gusman Center is allowing you a blast to your high school past with a special showing of the movie Fame. The Gusman’s Flickin’ Summer Music Series — which will also show Flashdance and The Wiz in the coming weeks — will let you relive the film that made you want to dance like Leroy and change your name to Coco.
This Thursday at 7 p.m., the lights will go down and the silver screen will come aglow with one of the best dance flicks of all time. Forget High School Musical; you haven’t seen teenagers sing and dance until you see these fictional New Yorkers do “I Sing the Body Electric.” Tickets cost nine dollars.
Thu., Aug. 20, 7 p.m., 2009
