Most years, a Miami Dolphins versus Oakland Raiders matchup becomes a contest of who can fail more extravagantly. But this Sunday, the Raiders will come to Sun Life Stadium with the chance — a small chance, but still a chance — of making the playoffs. The Dolphins, on the other hand, have no hope for the postseason after a seven-game losing streak that made even die-hard Dol-fans question their choices in life.
The team’s recent wins have also spoiled the popular “suck for Luck” strategy, in which the team purposely continues to lose games to gain a first-round draft pick named Andrew Luck. They have nothing left to lose, except the remainder of their games. And that might just make the Dolphins crazy enough to spoil the Raiders’ Super Bowl possibilities — or they’ll crash and burn once again and we’ll all go back to speculating about when Tony Sparano will get canned. Either way, it’ll be fun to watch.
