If you’re heading out for a night in Miami Beach, you already know where to go for your music of choice. For hip-hop, you head straight to The Fifth. For techno magic, it’s all about Local Celebrity. But what if you’re jonesing for live music? The one truly dedicated destination is Jazid. This slender two-story venue has been packing fans in for eleven years, making it the Beach’s longest-running live music nightclub. “People love our place. So many people know Jazid,” says owner Daniel Wohltein. He attributes the establishment’s continuing success to consistently great performances, an intimate setting, and a laid-back, no-velvet-ropes mentality. To celebrate Jazid’s eleven-year anniversary, fans and well wishers are invited for a party that’s bound to spill out onto the pavement.

Beginning at 9:30 p.m., the ever-popular Spam Allstars will jam on a seldom-used outdoor stage, while house DJs (including the owner himself) man the ones and twos in the club’s upstairs lounge. Suenalo Sound System will take over live music duties from 12:15 a.m. to well into the early morning. And a party ain’t a party without an open bar!
Sat., June 16, 9:30 p.m.
