If you’ve tried and failed every workout regimen from strip aerobics to climbing faux mountains, try Zumba — a workout that’s homegrown and absolutely heart-pounding. Miami-based dancer and choreographer Beto Perez developed a system that fuses elements of Latin dance styles (think cumbia, salsa, rumba, and flamenco) with aerobic interval training and uses certified local instructors to spread the sweaty word. Now, groups such as Fit by Haydee have adapted his techniques and made them their own so you can dance, sweat, and wonder where your love handles went. From 6 to 10 p.m. the first Thursday of each month at 2114 NW 107th Ave. in Doral, join Haydee as she takes you through a free dance party class, winetasting, and live music by local artists.
