The Parisian press dubbed him the “Sculptor of Flowers.” The term floral arrangements doesn’t do his work justice; he composes verdant, blossoming masterpieces. Melding the beauty of nature with the spontaneity of design, Emilio Robba creates pieces (yes, pieces) that will have your little Publix bouquet crying Miracle-Gro-saturated tears of shame. For a quarter-century he has dreamed up designs that have appeared in top interior design and fashion magazines, as well as in the homes of the world’s elite. Expanding his artistic eye to develop innovative furniture, metal sculptures, and lighting fixtures that complement his botanic concoctions has only strengthened his position as a true artiste. Meet Robba, the international designer and sculptor with Richard Gere good looks, as he hosts the grand opening of his first U.S. retail boutique tonight at the Village of Merrick Park.
