No more excuses. The holidays are over, it’s a new year, and you’ve gotta get down to business when it comes to meeting that absurdly unrealistic list of resolutions you concocted. Seriously, do you really think you’ll lose 30 pounds, marry a millionaire and get a job with the Heat by February? Then again, who are we to shatter your dreams?

Undoubtedly, saving money is on your lengthy list — just like it was last year, and the ten years before that. But Jesus, this city is expensive, and it ain’t easy to forego all its costly pleasures. Luckily, we’re looking out for you, so here’s a bunch of free stuff to occupy you this week.

When news happens, Miami New Times is there —
Your support strengthens our coverage.

We’re aiming to raise $30,000 by December 31, so we can continue covering what matters most to you. If Miami New Times matters to you, please take action and contribute today, so when news happens, our reporters can be there.

$30,000
  • Garden Market at Miami Beach Botanical Garden: Window shopping works just as well when it comes to garden-grown goodies. And hell, even if you do spend money, it’s better than blowing it at Burger King, areweright?
  • Space Jam at the North Shore Park Bandshell: Instead of blowing $12 to see some crappy CGI flick, why not watch your fave animated childhood throwback instead?! This is why Michael Jordan > Lebron.
  • Ladies Night at Lost Weekend: Sometimes, it pays to be a woman. Putting aside childbirth, makeup woes, and PMS, natch. Score free beer and well drinks just because you’re a chick.
