They say the water is fine and we should all just jump right in. But what if the water is infested with rubber-headed humans, stroking and paddling toward a soaking-wet finish line? Well, it means the gun has sounded and it’s time for Nike Swim Miami, a race where children, adults, and seniors can swim around an Olympic-style pool to benefit the H2Os Foundation. You must be certified to even stick your toe into the competition waters, but watching the one-mile, five-kilometer, and ten-kilometer races is something the most buoyant novice can do from the sidelines. Visit their website to see if you’re eligible to enter, or just show up to cheer on the dolphins among us.
