L.A.’s electronic dance duo The Crystal Method has given ravers tweakin’ funky beats since 1993. With a solid mix of soulful pop, hip-hop, and tripnotic rhythms, Ken Jordan and Scott Kirkland continue to drop tracks that reel in new fans while keeping old-school techno lovers on their aging feet. Often compared to Britain’s The Chemical Brothers, the big-beat-driven Crystal Method continues to roll out club hits with staying power, like the ethereal “Trip Like I Do” and “Keep Hope Alive” from the group’s 1997 debut album, Vegas. Success continued with “Roll It Up” and “Name of the Game” from 2001’s Tweekend. Even young whippersnappers know TCM is cool: The guitar-and-bass-driven song “Born Too Slow,” from 2004’s Legion of Boom, was featured in an episode of The OC, while the always alluring Milla Jovovich lent her moans to the slow grind of “I Know It’s You.” Get ready to dance tonight at 10:00 at Voodoo Lounge.
