Hank Schloppin was gloriously drunk. So drunk he slid off the bench in a Munich beer garden and found himself under the heavy oak of a raucous communal table. The cool air below offered a welcome respite from the clamor of activity above. Then a pointy finger in his shoulder and the cackle of a long-eared drunken troll woke him from his stupor. “I am Aldrik the Wise,” he proclaimed, “and your kind don’t belong here!” Aldrik kicked him so hard his head rung. “If beer quenches thirst, a sausage quells hunger,” the troll said.
Instantly, Hank was back at the party with a plate of the best wurst he’d ever tasted and a massive stein of brew.
