Monday: Avoid the rain. Stay indoors by making an appointment to see Believe the Hype.
Tuesday: Stop waiting for the Rapture to occur. Seek it out yourself at Artformz Gallery, where artwork by Natasha Duwin and Henning Haupt is on display. There’s no charge to see their exhibit “Rapture.”
Wednesday: Today is Iggy Pop’s birthday, and to celebrate, the folks at Churchill’s are throwing a free bash, featuring a litany of local bands. Will the former Stooges frontman show up? Fingers crossed.

Thursday: The big news Thursday is there’s a free Surfer Blood concert in Bal Harbour. They’re playing with Turbo Fruits and Miami’s ANR. Be prepared to park a few blocks away because the valet costs $15.
If you’ve had enough of surf rock, check out a free screening of It’s All Gone Pete Tong at Sweat Records this Thursday night.
During the day, spend some hours wandering around Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, where there’s no admission this Thursday. (It’s Earth Day!) See the
spotted pumpkin and Sasquatch art installations strewn among the
tropical plants.
Or else you could catch a glimpse of posh living by watching a game of polo on the sands of Miami Beach. Somebody’s going home with the Miami Beach Polo World Cup. It’s free to watch.
Friday:
Commemorate the legacies of both Cervantes and Shakespeare, who died on
this very day in 1616, by attending a book-trade/pyro-art show by George Sanchez-Calderon. Here’s footage from his last show:
