Trailers for art shows! It’s sort of a brilliant idea. The above previews one of the highlights of this Saturday’s Art Walk — the opening of “Believe the Hype” at Eazy Street Gallery. The group show, which features pop surrealist and mixed media street artists like Nick Gazin, Eric Althin, and Matthew Curran, was curated by Dustin Orlando. Known for his lowbrow programming, Orlando was the former owner of Wynwood’s Objex Artspace and the source of much speculation when he quickly departed Miami in 2005. “Believe the Hype” will be his first show in Miami in five years.
Starting at 8 p.m. on Saturday, the opening boasts a performance by ANR (Awesome New Republic), live screen printing by Rocky Grimes, and a DJ set by Keen-One. There’s a $10 cover and an after party at PopLife at the Electric Pickle.
The Eazy Street Gallery is located at 3501 NW Second Ave. in Wynwood. Call 305-767-3988 or visit ezstreetgallery.com.
