The Kool-Aid has been spilled, the air has been let out of the balloon, and someone has stepped on our puppy’s tail. When the Miami Dolphins took the playing field two Sundays ago, Fins fans watched as defending champs the Baltimore Ravens kicked us in the groin, spoiling a stellar 3-0 start for the Dolphins. Going into last week’s bye, the Dolphins had a 3-2 record, with fans bitching and moaning after dropping two in a row. Never mind that when the season began, most experts predicted it would be a miracle if the Fins had a single win at this point in the season; football is all about what they have done for us lately, with wideout Mike Wallace feeling the brunt of fans’ ire. This week, the Dolphins face division rivals the Buffalo Bills, a surprise of this young NFL season. Led by rookie QB EJ Manuel and an extremely tough defense, the Bills are a year behind the Fins in their rebuilding mode; they’re just doing it slightly better.
