Miami has an open mike event almost every evening. But hump day just got a lot more happening. Welcome to The Bohemia Room: A Spoken Word Experience, a weekly event with a difference. Hosts Ingrid B., Alexander T. Proctor, and 99 Jamz DJ Lorenzo “Ice Tea” Thomas will set the tone while members of the Miami Masters slam poetry team, including Will Da Real One, Chunky, Caheej, Asia, and Rachel “Flow Diva” Finley, spit fire in the main room. Visitors can mingle and dance to eclectic grooves in the other room. Event organizer Ingrid B. has big plans. “We’ll have listening parties and film screenings. The whole venue will be a performance art space, but we are a poetry spot at the end of the day,” she explains. Feel the vibe tonight at 8:00 at Power Studios. Admission is ten dollars.
