Miami may not be as finely aged as New York or Los Angeles when it comes to art history, but the Magic City is always hungry for more, ready for creative collaborations from any avenue. Auctions are the perfect way to feel like one of the big guys, snatching artworks out of the hands of your friends and frenemies. The Wynwood Art Auction gives locals that rush through street and graffiti art with a no-reserve auction featuring works by renowned artists, including Miguel Paredes, Erni Vales, David LeBatard (AKA Lebo), Kenny Scharf, Steven Gamson, Jenny Perez, and others. The evening will include an open specialty cocktail bar by Bombay Sapphire, live entertainment, and in-house street painting. Proceeds from the event will go toward Ronald McDonald House Charities, dedicated to improving the health and well-being of children. The auction takes place Friday from 6 to 10 p.m. at Grand Central (697 N. Miami Ave., Miami). Tickets cost $50 and are limited. New Times readers can receive a 20 percent discount by using the promotion code SPRAY. Visit wynwoodartauction.com.
