Rowing along the picture-perfect, sun-dappled waters of the Indian Creek waterway with the Miami Beach skyline as the backdrop — is there really any other way for a race to be done? The Head of the Indian Creek Regatta offers such an experience. This 2.8-mile rowing race against the clock on the always-picturesque Indian Creek is an annual event featuring racing categories for every type of competitor, from high school and college to recreation singles and championship-level eights. The first three-place winners in each race will be presented with a medal, and a trophy will go to the highest-point college, club, and high school at a ceremony to be held at the end of the regatta.
All of the action takes place on the Indian Creek waterway this Sunday. Registration fees are $75 per eight, $60 per quad, $50 per double, and $35 per single. The first race begins at 8 a.m. For more information and to check the schedule for race times, visit www.rowmiamibeach.com and www.regattacentral.com, or call 305-861-8876.
