Burlesque and Miami have always been a good fit. Both have elements of over-the-top theatrics, striptease, and just plain tease. So there is no better home for dancer Erika Moon’s debut of Evolution of Burlesque this Thursday at 9 p.m. than Colony Theatre. Though she has Latin-American roots, Moon was born in France, where she developed a love of cabaret lifestyle at Toulouse nightclubs. After adding the descriptors fashion designer and choreographer to her limited label of showgirl, she moved on to perform in cities such as Bangkok and Las Vegas. This weekend, she shimmies into Miami, where she will dance, strip, and don lots of feathery attire in Evolution. Want further hints about the sultry show? In past productions, Moon has performed bits titled “Cleopatra’s Bath” and “The Vagaries of Betty Boop.”
