Since the dawn of time, alcohol has helped historical figures make their decisions — for better or worse. The Ancient Greeks, monarchs, dictators, and even Jesus couldn’t live without a little liquid courage. In fact, great general and pocket-size emperor Napoleon Bonaparte was so hooked on Courvoisier that he took 200 bottles of the champagne cognac with him when he was exiled to Elba in 1814. Talk about a party of one.
