Since debuting the Wildcat formation last September in a defining win against the Patriots, Tony Sparano and company have been guarding the recipe like Fort Knox gold. What new wrinkles will it have this season? True Dol-fans will have a chance to find out when Miami Dolphins Training Camp opens to the public this Sunday at Nova Southeastern University.
Rest assured what fans will see between that first 9 a.m. session and the last one August 20 will be only the tip of Sparano’s schematic iceberg, but he also needs to put the league on notice. The afternoon sessions generally begin at 5 p.m., although there will be some 2 p.m. starts. All times are subject to change, however, so call 954-452-7004 or visit miamidolphins.com in advance.
What’s not subject to change is South Florida’s August heat. Wear cool, light-colored clothes; hats; and plenty of sunscreen, because most of the 2,000 seats lack cover. Admission and parking are free, as are autographs from the players who stay late.
