According to UFC President Dana White, there are only four or five fight teams in the nation capable of producing a champion, and South Florida’s American Top Team is perhaps the best of them. Boasting a roster of mixed martial arts fighters that includes world featherweight champ Mike Brown, Thiago “Pitbull” Alves, and Jorge “Jorginho” Santiago, ATT puts the Cobra Kai dojo to shame, and this Friday, they’ll put their reputation on the line at the James L. Knight Center for Shine Presents: American Top Team Versus the World.
Beginning at 8 p.m., Top Team fighters will take on opponents in a string of ten back-to-back matches that culminates with Roan “Jucão” Carneiro versus Jorge “Macaco” Patino. We don’t know who’s going to win, only that whoever’s getting paid to clean up the lost blood and teeth afterward should get a raise.
