What do you do with a drunken sailor? Although Natalie MacLean might not know exactly what to do with an inebriated seaman, she likely has a funny anecdote about one. Honored in 2003 as the World’s Best Drink Writer by the World Food Media Awards, MacLean has penned numerous articles, received prestigious awards, and is the enologist behind the popular Natalie Decants newsletter. Tonight at 8:00, she’ll be at Books & Books describing her adventures in seeking out the best wines in the world. It’s part of a tour promoting her new book, Red, White, and Drunk All Over: A Wine-Soaked Journey from Grape to Glass. If you are like most people, though, all of that talk about boozy escapades will probably make you a bit dry-mouthed if not outright craving for a drop of the old vino. But don’t worry about sneaking in your own boot flask: As your most conscientious sommelier, MacLean is bringing with her a sampling of her favorite wines for fans to taste in-store. Admission is free. Call 305-442-4408, or visit www.booksandbooks.com.
