Aracataca, a restaurant promising to serve “Colombian chic cuisine,” opens its doors tonight in Key Biscayne. Named after the town in Colombia famous for being the birthplace of novelist Gabriel Garcia Marquez, the restaurant replaces French bistro Le Croisic. The locale and owners are the same.
“We’re going to be using Colombian products like platano and guanabana to create something new and different,” manager Pavel Arratia told Short Order. “We’re trying to mix our knowledge of French cuisine with Colombian products.”
Le Croisic operated for 10 years and in 2007 earned our vote as Best Restaurant in Key Biscayne so maybe this has promise. At least it sounds like it could offer us a refreshing break from Colombian fast food, which seems to be the only type of Colombian food we hear about lately.
